Bewerley Park Day 2

Sun is forecast later!

Breakfast has been hailed as 'Delicious' with one pupil claiming 'It's like holiday.' We are now preparing for a full day's activities, sorting out dry waterproofs.

'When you are doing it, don't look down.' 'I was a bit nervous while I was doing it but it helped me concentrate.' 'It was good because I got to decide how high I should go.' 'I conquered my fear of heights ... and my fear of not getting my favourite sandwich.' 'I like vacuuming.' 'I was encouraged by my friends to give things a go.' 'I thought I wouldn't fit through the rock, but I could and now I know I am smaller than I thought.' 'We were all proud of what we did the second time. We then did it twice as well the fourth time. None of us thought we would be able to do it that fast.'

These are quotes from children who took part in walking to Brimham, rock scrambling, high ropes, mountain biking and organisation of themselves and their dorms.

They have taken full advantage of the sunshine, although it is still very wet underfoot. All staff have been impressed by the ways that children have begun to understand how to stretch themselves.

We are now enjoying our evening meal - the salad bar is proving a very popular extra.

Orienteering this evening with a few twists.

The Brimham challenge of getting all the group from the ground to the top of the rock in the shortest time (ideally under 1 minute). This is the 4th attempt shaving 50 seconds off the first try.
