End of year letter

Thank you to everyone for their patience as we tried to map out the rest of this term and the start of the next one within a rapidly-changing environment. Safety remains at the heart of everything we are doing and I am very grateful to all staff for maintaining high standards despite the massive challenges that Covid-19 continues to pose.

Today, we have put your child's end of year report in the post along with a timetable for Fun Factory Summer Holiday Childcare and a letter with details about the end of this term and the start of next term. (Hopefully, things won't have to change too much between now and then.)

The start of next year will have a major emphasis on induction and teachers will spend a lot of time settling their new classes. Unfortunately, it has not been possible to work out a safe way for children to meet their existing teacher before the holiday because of the large numbers of teachers working in different "bubbles" within the "3 schools in 1".

Mrs Calow, Mrs Griffin and Miss Hindle leave Newby and Scalby at the end of this term and we wish them all the very best in the future. Our celebrations to mark their time serving our school community will be delayed until we can all meet up safely but I want to pass on everyone's thanks for their dedication and hard work throughout their time with us.

More details about your child's teacher will be put in the post in the week beginning the 6th July.
